Well I'd imagine that everyone had left this blog by now but I know there are few faithfuls out there. Thank you! So it's been about four months since I last made any appearance and in that time LOTS has happened. Now rather than bore you with what would become a novel explaining it I'm just going to recap each event with one sentence. Should be quick. Ready? Here we go!
To my memory the longest lapse in blogging had been around six weeks my last entry was on August 28th of 2008. It's January 12, 2009. Yyyeaaah. We we left off where camp had just ended and I was now starting to get things together. Here we go!
I applied for a job at a soon to open Apple Store in Hillsdale mall in San Mateo. I got a call back, interviewed, and hired in less than five days. Training began, great group of folks. Went to Disneyland for the first time in 19 years. (Splash Mountain wasn't done being built last I was there, yeah.) Great times with friends there, must go more often. Returned to the craziness of training and pre-store opening, getting the store together and such. Store opens on September 20th, 2008– awesome. I'm not working a bunch with the new store opening, I'm climbing less and less. Little bit of theater work here and there. Theater work starts to slip/am working less. I get a sinus infection, hours at the store drop off. Get to see Pendulum (the band) live at the Filmore in SF. Finally get find out I'd had a sinus infection the past two weeks, get medication. Store work, store work, etc. Still no climbing or theater, I hurt (more on this later.)
Get a small theater gig at a elementary/middle school via my friend, provides a week of stuff to do. More store stuff. Work crazy overnight shift to change the floor-layout, weee! Take part of the black friday sale craziness, arrive at Fry's Electronics at 5am, holly shit. Get my folks a new 42" plasma, got myself a nice small Canon camera.
Finally see my doctor about my worsening hernia condition. See the surgeon, get on the schedule for the next week. Start playing air hockey again, it's been some years. Have surgery, groggy as shit, it hurts, I get very strong medication which makes me loopy. I recover very quickly, I'm out and about with friends only 2.5 days later. We go see Milk, a MUST see movie. Back to store work and recovering. New York trip is coming up, planning begins. Holidays are crazy at the store.
New York City trip with my closest friends, Pablo & San. Great times, saw many things, did times square for new years eve, froze my ass off a bunch. (Pictures link soon.) Drink prices at bars/clubs are bullshit. Saw some shows, broadway box office people are pricks.
Return from NY, Macworld. Lota stuff, no major new stuff, saw a bunch of cool booths/products. Went several days. (Photos link also coming.) Lotsa interesting stuff announced at CES (didn't go.) Back to workin' at the store.
Finally that brings us to now. I'll have some more stuff up tonight that is more specific/detailed stuff. I gotta wrap this up as I actually have to head off to the store to work an extra shift.
