A month passes, working and slacking on blog.

So this blog is to the date one month from the last one. I do believe I have said in the past few entries that I'm going to be more diligent about entries, guess not. So I'll have a bit of general update stuff as it has been awhile and hopefully something interesting. In all reality two of the four past week were fairly busy with work and one other had work sprinkled in there. So on to the ("medium length") play-by-week summary.

So I just skimmed through my last entry and laughed at it myself, quote of the last line of it.
"The new goal, laugh if you must, is updates twice a week."
Twice a week, what the hell was I thinking? Anyway let's move on to the week by week play shall we and perhaps my long break from my sites will be (somewhat) justified.
So the week following the last entry I ended up working Sunday thru Thursday setting up for Theatre Works for the musical "Caroline, or Change." Looks like a good show, this is the last week it's running I might get to see it who knows. So clearly getting home daily from a full day of theater work the only priority was to eat, shower, and sleep.
Following week (first week of April) was quite chill. One day of work and then off to Tahoe with Pablo for two days. It was just the two of us because my larger groups had fallen thru and I had promised him a trip. (And I'm not one to turn down an opportunity to go snowboarding. It was a really nice trip and I wished we could have made it longer. We opted for a short one primarily for financial reasons along with the fact that it was the first week of classes at UCSC. The spring conditions were surprisingly good and I was absolutely stunned with how my board rode after the full tune job. Getting a full tune job on your board or skis is one of the best things you can do, it's like getting a new ride but for way less. Photos are on Facebook and we shot video too but the post-pro on that isn't the highest priority currently, in due time.

Onward, the next week was fairly chill. Worked two days, two strikes. One of ACT at the Zeum and one for Theatre Works. Also this was the week ramping for Beta Camp. So I've worked/taught for iD Tech Camps for the past two years, going on to my third summer with them. As with any technology the first week of camp would always be crazy as all the bugs in the software, curriculum, and planning would show up. So the idea this year was to do on a small scale a test run, a beta camp. We setup on Saturday and started on the following monday.
That same weekend was the UPA open college Ultimate (frisbee) sectionals. So on Sunday (camp setup sat 'member) I drove over to Livermore and spent a my afternoon watching the Santa Cruz teams (A and B.) B team did Ok, it was a bit disheartening to see things, well frankly, crumble a bit. However the team still had a great season (better than we did) and so I have great hopes for this group of guys in the coming season. A team was playing amazing games that day. They crushed Stanford A in the final game to take the 1st place seed at sections going into regionals. I'm excited to see how things shape up this season. Go Slugs!

Ok this is getting long, time to start wrapping it up! So that week was beta camp. Fun times to get back into the whole camp thing. I keep doing this job because teaching really is very rewarding and also the people you work with at a camp job are awesome. The hellish part of the job was that it was a day camp so I had to commute from San Mateo to Santa Clara daily, during commute hour. Sucked. Proved that there is NO way I'd survive with a typical 9-5 job– commute combined with the morning wakeup, not happening.

Lastly, this weekend was nice payoff. Friday was Stacy's b-day, did some kart racing again. My lap times are improving! :D Definitely had a good home-field advantage given that I had raced on the Leman's karting track before. Also got to meet Stacy's two British cousins, awesome guys. Also did the dinner-post hangout at Dave & Busters. I have to honestly say, not hugely impressed with it and probably wouldn't out of choice return.
Sat-sun was fun, checked out a new bar in SF which was good fun. It actually took a bit of persuasion by some friends to get me to come along that night... heh. The conundrum was I was canceling on previous plans at a late point, which I fucking hate people being flaky so I'm not one to want to perpetuate that. However that said, I crashed in SC that night and then met up with Phill and Zach for breakfast. I must say getting a phone call at 6:30am to confirm breakfast caught me off guard! But all said and done got the day going. It was good to hangout with both of them again, especially given that Zach is not even in Cal anymore let alone the business traveling. *shake fist at* (The business travel part, I don't care to live in Texas.)
Also a reminder of how me and Phill have talked several times about music production. We're do need to capitalize on the fact we live close by.

Anyway upon returning home not the greatest of welcomes, and I was gonna bitch about that but I don't like harboring negative thoughts / energy thru the day so I'll discuss that in due time. As for music, a strong reminder that I do need to get going with DJ work. More under the umbrella of I have to start making more money so I can be self-sufficient and move out. *sigh*
Ok so there it is, longer that I thought but it is a month's worth of stuff after all. Like the last entry I really do want to get to posting more content more regularly, and I have a plan that should make it work out (well I think so at least.) Got some nifty topics which are fairly recent ideas so here's to hoping! Disclaimer, I really have to update my other two sites (NeilMG.org and DJEth.com) first before I post another entry. The plan is this week posting becomes frequent. Let's see.
