4 Days in Tahoe

So I'm a bit late on blog updates espically this one, but hey better late than never right? So last week a few of us went up to Tahoe for a solid four days. Many of us myself haddn't managed to do a multi-day trip in a few years so it was really awesome. Given that there had just been a storm a few days ago lent to great conditions. Weather was nice on the slightly warmer side (mid 40's) but not to the point where the snow was getting slushy.

So our trip was Thursday thru to Sunday. Riding/skiing all four days, three nights. We drove up (well technicall I did all the driving) on Thursday morning starting with me leaving my place at around 4:15am. From there picked up Stephen and David and then headed over to the east bay to get Shannon. From there it was a straight shot up to the north of the lake. So we were splitting between two places: Royal Gorge (Cross Country skiiing) and Sugarbowl (boarding & downhill ski.) Basically Stephen was the dedicated XC'er and I was the boarder/person at Sugarbowl. David and Shannon alternated days at the various resorts. I kinda wanted to get more time in the terrain park and such but I was so tired even after a few days I decided not to push myself too hard too early in the season.
Last time I did a bunch of jumps and such early in the season (oddly at Sugarbowl) I broke my hand. Remember that? Probably not but I do. David also got a bunch of nice photos, including a few videos he shot with his digital camera. There's only two up on Facebook, but still not bad. One of me taking a small jump in the terrain, it's not huge I really would've loved to get something big in the park, but oh well. In due time.

There's bunches of photos up on Facebook, so if you're there and my friend check them out. I didn't post any so I can't give you a login-free look at those. This season is looking like a great change from last season (which was warm as all fucking hell) so I expect a bit more snow in the forecast and an extended spring session.

I've got a few more Tahoe trips in the works, possibly one BIG one over the college spring break period. So hit me up if you're up for it. All skill levels welcome! It's looking like I might have a BIG group (two cars worth, possibly enough to rent a condo.) Don't hesitate, get on this. Maybe some weekend or even midweek trips in the works. I'll have Tahoe trip planning info up on my the sanbox (sandbox.neilmg.org). Keep an eye on it for trip info.
It's snow time bitches!
