Sooo last entry I started off things well. Wrote a nice article, something of information/news with a bit of opinion mixed in. Also started with the idea of having some images to go along. And I believe I talked about writing regularly. Well if you've been keeping track it's been almost 3 weeks since that entry. So much for that. Honestly I really do intend to, but for whatever reason I just don't. This is kinda like the same thing with jobs, while I have every intention to really get my resume "out there" and start working on really anything, I haven't. My resume is still "being worked on." Come the fuck on, I can't get my shit together. Blah.
Anyway, so for some of "what's been up with me" updates shall we? Well let's back up to Nov 8th (date of last entry) and go from there. Friday was fun, went to SF and the Castro with Pablo, San, and Robert (who I met for the first time.) Cool times, sooo glad to finally go clubbing again. FUN night. LONG night. Given that I broke (wet?) my dry spell that night was a nice thing. That's a story unto itself, you know if you know, otherwise I wouldn't worry. Moving along, slept most of saturday and then headed down to Santa Cruz for David's birthday. Fun times, got to meet up with folks still hanging round Santa Cruz. Crashed at his place and headed up to campus in the morning for ULTIMATE! It was the big Sean Ryan Ultimate tournament that weekend so I made a point to go up to campus to watch the games and say hi to former teammates. 'Twas a nice day and such. I ended up meeting up with Pablo again and got a sandwich later on. Anywho.
As for the weekday portions of the following two weeks/three, I don't recall anything and of course it's probably just like the rest: boring. Tuesday week of Thanksgiving was Stephen's birthday, so went out and such. Went shooting some and then to BJ's for food. Which reminds me, I took that ten-fucking-minute phone survey for a coupon code for a free bruschetta, need to use that... Alright, Thanksgiving family friends over etc. I don't know about other people's holiday stuff, but there has traditionally been a major lack of people around me or my brother's age range. While it's a problem just something I just thought about. Following Black Friday. Holly shit. Apparently people DO get up at 2am to line up, and the stores DO open at 4 and 5am. Holly shit, seriously people you have gone apeshit nuts. Anyway, my bro got a nice deal on a hard drive. I picked up a bunch of DVD's (I didn't plan that, but how can you pass up $4 DVD's?) I also got the long sought after super security screw driver bit kit. Yeah, there are some screw heads that I have NEVER and probably never will see that this thing can open. In short, I can now open up virtually everything.
Oh shit! HA I'm forgetting the weekend between that. I went to my high school (Aragon) to go see their winter musical. My brother has been working sound on shows for them for a few years now. Anyway, it was refreshing to see a show there again. What made it special was that they did "Anything Goes" which happens to be the same show that I did there my freshman year. It was good times and nice to talk to people I hadn't see in quite some time.
Alright, on to saturday? I guess... of this just past weekend. Have I lost you? Perhaps, whatever. Saturday, Rishi, Stephen, David, myself. Hung out, Santana Row in San Jose. Nobody take this the wrong way. I don't really ever feel like hanging out there again. There is honestly a point a friend of mine has made about hanging out with "the straights." Sorry guys, there's a bit of lackluster energy at times. However it's the general atmosphere that bugs me about many straight places. Santa row bugs the shit outta me cuz it's practically more of an issue of "we're HERE at Santa Row," see and be seen right? I'm sorry but it IS a nice spot but it's still San Jose. More to the point it's how all the jumping joints, and I do mean all of them, are really just restaurant. What shouldn't be a bad idea it becomes one fast. This is because even at the early hours, of 10pm the dining area is still going full blast. Thus you are confined to the bar area, which reasonably can hold maybe 40 people. As the evening progresses more people come in and the crowd sizes grow. However the fatal mistake is that NONE of the dining areas are opened up for lounging/drinking. Thus you end up with a bar that is nothing short of a snapshot out of China. Honestly some places try. Blowfish Sushi actually does a decent attempt at this. This is because at the late hours they will let you spill into the dining area and sit AND they also control how many people are in the place. If it gets too crowded, ya just have to wait till someone leaves to get in.
I can and will be highly critical of nightlife locations but I feel I can because I've been to a lot of places and know that many times it's simply just an issue of someone not thinking shit out. Many times they are easily rectifiable, but who ever's in charge decides not to.
Ok so one hour later... (I just took a break) I want to just finish this off. So, other stuff: I've been climbing a lot. I'm trying to keep up the 4 days a week. So far been able to meet that target, but I need to increase how much time I'm there. A good portion of them are only 45 mins or so because that's all the time I'll have.
Also I recently discovered that despite all of the changes I made to the site's style sheet for your viewing pleasure, the font doesn't render the same on all browsers. I used font families and thru a wonderful service I found (and can't remember the link), discovered the flaw. You submit your site and it loads it on various machines running various browsers and then takes screen picture of it. Very helpful to see how all of the different iterations of IE display a site. Anyway so that's another thing to add to the to-do list. Lastly you may or may not have noticed the introduction of tags. All blog entries henceforth will have various topic tags, which will make searching and general categorizing easier. *Eventually* I will go through all past entries and tag them as well. However that's a long way off.
Yes I have more "articles" planned. Which by the way for now I'm calling them "Points of Discussion" or PoD in the tag. I hopefully will write one this week. Hopefully. Lastly good job if you got all the way thru this, give yourself a pat on the back. I do this all too often (ramble) and those of you who read the whole damn thing are amazing and also really cool people. And I guess you should go have a cookie (just one.)
