Well to back up a day, friday was a great day. I managed to go shopping when I was VERY hungry, bad idea. Got alot of food, but the upside is I'm set for awhile. So my friend from high school who now goes to UC Berkeley was in town which it was nice to see him as it had been awhile we'd seen each other.
There was a nice crowd at my place that evening for an "official" game night. We haven't had one in awhile, and it was nice to have a full out one.

Well as a result of this late night of the game/party night, I slept late, and didn't get up until 3pm on Saturday. So I kinda just wasted my day, as it was to late to do much else.
Tomorow (well technically today, as I'm writing this early Sun morning) will be booked nicely. Some light work in the barn, going to see Ghostly Goddess, then mabey some lights work in the black box.
Ah well I should sleepy now.

Ok, that title may be a bit consfusing, but if you've taken the theater arts 60 series (theater history, theory, and pratice) then you'll get it. Otherwise, don't worry.

Well it's way to early in the morning for me to be awake considering I've got a midterm later this morning. (it's 4am right now and I've got a 10am class.) It's lighting class, and not to be overconfident but I do know the material well. Probably the only class the whole time I've been here at UCSC that I've compleetly kept up with the reading. But hey, lighting, it's my thing, makes sense.

Well I wanted to post this just cuz it's like I'm "in the moment" right now, and didn't want to loose it over some sleep.

Just had a fucking amazing chat (instant message chat that is) with a good friend about stuff and such. Kinda got down to me and my sexuality later on. I kinda got really emotional as it went on. But it was really good to finally talk to someone about it. I had talked to friends about it and such here and there, but never in the most compleet depth that I just did this morning. I just did some word counts in in MS Word, and well.... Damn. Quick stats:
21 pages long, rough word count of 4500 words, duration of 2 hours and 15 mins. Holly shit.

Well... today went incredibly fast. Basicaly, woke up, class. then after class some chill time at my place, and then lunch and work. I was schedule to work from 3-5 and then from 7-9. I ended up working from 3-9:45. Ouch. But hey, I get more $$$ so no reason to complain. I probably wouldn't have worked on my writing for class if I had the free time.
I should be working on it now, but instead I'm chatting and then making this entry. Lord knows why I do these things; I could so easily sleep, but I don't. I think it's that you get yourself trained to sleep around 3am or so, and then you're screwed if you try to sleep earlier.

Well as for show stuff, It's the final stretch! Show opens friday! Oddly, this isn't that bad for me as the master electrician. However for the designers and actors, and techs it's crazy.

Fast week, wow, wed already (well wed morning.) As hetic as today was, it was a good day. I dunno what it is with us who enjoy tech stuff. I mean you work your ass off, and you are hella tired when you're done. But then looking back on it, you know that you were enjoying it the whole time. I coined this phrase some time ago, and it gets many laughs amongst felow techies, because we know it's sooo true:
"It's the weird, wacked-up logic of theater techs; doing a lot of (physical) work late into the night, and somehow that's fun."
So true. So true. So needless to say, working the show at Merrill cultural center was, oddly, enjoyable. Ah well, I'm weird, that's why I'm a theater techie. :oP

Ok, this is a long ass post, I should wrap it up... I know there was more I was goign to say, but I've kinda lost track. Ah well I'll get to that later.

So yeah, it's 4:15am right now and I have no idea why I am still awake. Work on Ghostly Goddess... (the current theater produciton I am working on) has been draining. And yet I still sleep late. Oh well.
I was going to make some t-shirt designs and post them here, but that didn't happen.
So just an update...... Ghostly goddess... opens on feb 4th, the friday and runs for two weeks. During which time I will be having to worry about the next show, Random with a Purpose 13, the winter dance show. Random looks very cool this year. I was at the designer/dancer preview on Fri and I was rather impressed with what I saw this year. Last year was more, shal I say "abstract," something closer to interprative dance. It was good, but I'd say less eye catchy last year. This year.... ooh... looks good. Not to menton I'm working as assistant lighting designer (in addition to my usual master electrician stuff.)
So I think I shal sleep some before I have to wake up in 7 hours and do lots of work.

Alrighteyo, well short story shorter. It's 1:30am, and I'm kinda bored and not sleeping, so what do I do? Work on my website.
I was poking thru a friend's blog, and I was thinking "I read other's blogs, I should do the same." Friends were telling me when I asked them about blogs, "thats called 'xanga'." Yeah but why do that when I can have my own blog system on my own site? So that's exactly what I've done.
So BAM, here you go. You can post comments on stuff, I ask that you do use some name that I can figure out who you really are. The email, whatever. Tho keep comments relevant to the entry. If it can go in the forums, put it there, if need be, put in a link to the blog post. I'll just breifly menton, keep in mind policy, respect, one of my big pet peeves.

For the reccord, this entry is the first official entry. The one that precedes this one, was origonally on the site as just a page, and I moved it to the blog and screwed with the date so that it would show up as aproprate. I'm also thinking that I'll post site updates and such in the blog. Whatever, I'll figure it out as I go.

I've got some stuff I could post, but whatever I'll worry about that later.

So to posting something kinda pointless just cuz I can....
The holiday weekend was great. MacWorld was fun, getting to see the latest gizmos. My award for "Neil must buy" goes to the Sonos music system. (See Tech Stuff forum topic for macworld stuff.)

Sat-Sun was Tahoe, it was great. Nice weather, good snow. Nice weekend before I've got to start tech stuff for shows starting this coming weekend.
